Start your engines, because it’s time to roll out our Run Club!

Here’s the thing: I’d been ruminating on the idea of a run club long before COVID was a word you said 50 times a day. But as people started staying home, events and group runs started to get cancelled, it became pretty clear this was not an ideal time to start… right?

Wrong. We all agree that community is a big part of running, and it can be hard to motivate ourselves to get out for a run when there’s really nothing planned for the foreseeable future. So what better time to get together virtually to run and laugh and frolic and commiserate and motivate each other!

So we’re launching another Ottawa running group, not unlike our friends at Natural Fitness Labs , Mile 2 Marathon , ottcityrunclub, and Evolve Run Club to name a few. We’re just trying to give you all the possible options.

Traverse coached athletes will form the core of the group, but it will be open to one and all! Best part: it’s free for 2020! Think of it as a virtual trailhead parking lot where we all gather to do the same (or similar) workouts each week. Our post-run “tailgate parties” will have to be done on FB and Strava for now, but hey, desperate times…etc.!

All you have to do is sign up. You’ll get access to two workouts per week designed by yours truly, a private Strava club, and a group of really cool people to connect with!

Traverse Trail and Mountain Running is obviously trail focused, so whenever you can legally and safely run on trails (unless otherwise specified), that’s what we’re aiming for. But the times are weird and a lot of things are closed right now, so if you’re doing workouts on the road, that’s totally cool!
